HOW MANY PADS DO I NEED?

Everyone is so different so it not possible for me to tell you exactly how many pads you will need. To give you an idea - I have a 5 day cycle and my periods aren’t really heavy any more. On average I use about 22 pads per cycle. That might sound like heaps, but if you want to wash once during your period, you need 11, or three washes and you would only need 7. This does depend on the weather and whether or not you can get them dry quick enough. If you can't get them dry quickly you might get stuck with not enough. Count up how many disposable pads you use and use that as a base to give you an idea. Though I find that I don’t change cloth as often as I did disposables because they don’t start to feel all hot and yucky! Many of my customers buy a few pads at each website restocking until they have enough. This is a great way to spread out the cost as well as getting lots of gorgeous prints.

WHICH STYLE SHOULD I GET?

Again, it depends on you and what suits your body and flow. It’s a good idea to start with a few and see which style suits you best.

Little Sky pads are wide and long, whereas the Love My Lady Cloth pads are a trimmer pad. The Little Sky medium is a fabulous all-round pad and the one that I have most of in my own stash. I use it on heavy days and well as medium days. The length and width makes me feel very safe and secure.

DO YOU MAKE POST-PARTUM PADS?

I sure do. The Super Doopers are fabulous for post-partum use. The Little Sky Supers are, too. They can then be used on your heavy period days and overnight, so they make a great investment.

ARE THEY EASY TO WASH AND HOW DO I DO THAT?

They sure are! I have written detailed instructions here - https://www.whatakrakkafancypads.co.nz/washing-instructions.html

WHICH WAY UP DO I USE THEM?

This can confuse some people. They are intended to have the pretty side against your body which has the curved top stitching. You can find detailed info here - https://www.whatakrakkafancypads.co.nz/features_handmade_cloth_menstrual_pads.html

DO YOU USE ANY OTHER TOPPER OR BACKING FABRICS?

No - I only use cotton. I want to make pads that are as natural / breathable as possible with as little plastic or polyester as possible. The first two pads I bought (long ago) were made from minky fabric. The stuck to me and felt awful! They put me off pads for a few years before I tried again and made my own. It’s important to me to sell pads that I think are the best possible. I use cotton flannelette for the backing fabric as it is 100% cotton. I do not use polar fleece or micro fleece backing fabric as I personally hate polyester fabrics and when I trialed some I leaked straight though the backing fabric. Not what I am wanting to sell at all!

WHY DONT YOU SELL TV OR MOVIE CHARACTER PADS?

I do not use licenced fabrics. These fabrics are sold for personal use only unless you pay thousands of dollars to get a licence to be allowed to sell items from them. If you sell items without a licence and get caught, you can be sued. To me, it is not worth the risk when there are many other gorgeous prints out there.

IF I BUY THE WRONG STYLE CAN I RETURN THEM?

Due to the intimate nature of my pads, they can not be returned so please read the mesurements and choose carefully. No one wants to end up with a pad that someone else has tried on. This is the same policy as buying undies or swimwear from retail stores.

WHAT ARE YOUR PADS MADE OF?

You can find all the info here -  https://www.whatakrakkafancypads.co.nz/features_handmade_cloth_menstrual_pads.html

CAN I DO A CUSTOM ORDER?

Sorry - I no longer do custom orders. In order for me to try and keep up with demand I have stopped doing them. By not taking custom orders I am able to sew lots more during my sewing hours as I am not having to have multiple conversations with customers to arrange their orders, and making a stack of pads of the same colour also reduces sewing time.

WHY DO YOU USE PUL WHEN IT IS MADE OF PLASTIC?

The PUL that I buy is extremely effective, long wearing, breathable and very thin. Even though it is made of polyester I believe that is it the best option to make pads that are as leakproof as possible as well as being very thin. All the rest of the pad except for the snaps is made from cotton and bamboo, which are lovely natural fibers.

I KEEP MISSING OUT ON GETTING PADS. WHAT CAN I DO?

These days my pads sell out very fast. If you sign up to my mailing list, I will send you an email a few days before each pad restocking. Then you can set an alarm on your phone and be all ready when they go live on the website. If you keep an eye out on my Facebook page, you will see the progress I am making with the pads and know when a website restocking is getting closer.

DO YOU SEND OVERSEAS?

Sorry but I no longer send my pads outside of New Zealand.

DO YOU DO WHOLESALE ORDERS?

No I am unable to keep up the demand for my own website as it is. Thank you for thinking of me though.
